1. Sex Mob - Solid Sender
   The blues-based howls of Lester Bowie meet the Texas Chainsaw Massacre on this funky New Orleans shuffle-laden bar crawl. The title track of their second album highlights the handywork of DJ Logic. The rest of the album is monsterous, featuring covers of Ellington, The Stones, James Brown and The Grateful Dead's acoustic haiku, "Ripple".
2. Kid Koala - Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
   Turntable wunderkid creates narrative structure through the splicing and dicing of film, television, radio and vinyl. While this 40 minute release is uneven, the tracks Drunk Trumpet, Bar Hopper 1 and Like Irregular Chickens are delicious.
3. Various Artists - Brain in a Box
   Rhino's five disc set of material honoring the human fascination with what lies beyond our atmosphere. In addition to TV and film soundtracks, the collection includes everything from the interstellar explorations of Sun Ra to the novelty popwop of the Ran Dells. And... it comes with a brain.

   A Columbia rockabilly compilation featuring rip-roarin twang thangs.
5. Raymond Scott - Manhattan Research
   2 disc set of the Raymond Scott's electronic explorations, many of which were the foundation for popular commerical jingles.
6. God Speed you Black Emperor - Raise Your Fists
   Steven Reich shakes the hand of Dreadful Grate spacial explorations. Meet me on Saturn.
