On Thursday, July 25th, hang out with KALX as we welcome Chris Cohen and his sonically dynamic and
titillating pop music at The Chapel in San Francisco.
Throughout his career, Chris Cohen held stints in Deerhoof and as a lead for his art-rock act The Curtains, and has also worked in production and session work capacities for Weyes Blood, Kurt Vile, Le Ren, and Marina Allen.
Cohen is touring his first new album in 5 years titled ‘Paint a Room’ which releases on Hardly Art, his debut for the record label. ‘Paint a Room’ vocalizes deep vulnerabilities eschewed in casually complicated pop sensibilities for an enriching listening experience. Cohen’s newest album catapults him from laying down tracks on his own to actualizing his compositions with a band in real time and recording as a collaborative unit with others. This has resulted in some of Cohen’s most open and assured sounding songs that ebb and flow reality and imagination in a freeing and gentle manner.
The Chapel is located at 777 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA 94110.
All ages & wheelchair accessible.
Doors at 7:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
