Tune in to KALX Live! on Saturday, June 29th at 9pm for what is certain to be a mesmerizing performance by local heavyweights, Trough, hosted by Bartleby.
Hailing from Oakland, and originally formed in 2017, Trough plays a self-proclaimed style of rock music called “jangle-skronk”, which draws from a wide variety of influences including all manners of proto and post-punks, no-wave, noise rock, avant-garde/classical, free jazz and pop miniatures. The group blends a “high and low” aesthetic through succinct narrative tunes and a peculiar, defeatist sense of humor. The band has recorded three albums to date, and is currently hard at work on a fourth record.
Their latest album, Crise de Foie, is self-released and was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Tim Green at Louder Studios in Grass Valley. You can follow the goiter children on Instagram at @troughband.
