This Saturday, November 16, Bartleby will be hosting a mesmerizing performance by the local group Yama Uba.
Yama Uba is a post-punk/darkwave duo from Oakland, CA. They formed in 2017 with Akiko Sampson on vocals, bass, synth and drum programming, and Winter Zora on saxophone and guitar. Yama Uba released their 2024 debut album Silhouettes on the long standing, locally run Ratskin Records, and an EP on Psychic Eye Records. Yama Uba has toured the US, Japan, and Europe to date with only more to come.
