On Friday, October 18th you’ll need to get yourself within listening distance to KALX. Tiger Lily brings in Swansea Sound for a live performance and interview starting at 1:30pm. The band performs later that night at the Rickshaw Stop with Heavenly and local band Neutrals; both bands return to the Rickshaw Stop on Saturday, October 19th, with San Francisco band the Umbrellas.
Swansea Sound have been described as an indie supergroup, containing members of The Pooh Sticks, Talulah Gosh, Heavenly, The Dentists and Death In Vegas. They formed during lockdown. They didn’t know if they would ever play live. But they knew that they wanted to provide an antidote to introspective acoustic guitar music, and released a single called “Corporate Indie Band.” Their new single “Toxic Energy” follows on from two successful albums: “Live At The Rum Puncheon” and “Twentieth Century.” They now play live all the time.
