The KALX air studio has received some major upgrades thanks to a generous donation!
The main broadcast console, used by our DJs since the early 90’s to control all inputs (like CDs, turntables, microphones, and sports audio), has been replaced by a new and improved sound board. The entire studio has also been revamped with new furniture, microphones, and speakers.
The installation and building necessary for these upgrades took over 100 hours of staff and volunteer time as part of a plan to modernize the main air studio and enhance the sound quality of our broadcasts. In the meantime, KALX operated from its production studio. The effort required not only time, but the removal of lots of cables!
We are very grateful for the listeners’ continued support as we transitioned to our new equipment.
