On Friday, November 21st at 10am, we are thrilled to present a conversation with Erasure frontman Andy Bell and Massari, a unique opportunity ahead of his solo tour dates promoting his new album Ten Crowns.
Andy’s solo tour is a momentous occasion for fans of synth pop, Erasure, and all music enthusiasts. He will be playing three Bay Area shows: one on November 26th at The Guild Theatre in Menlo Park and on November 28th and 29th in San Francisco at the Palace of Fine Arts.
Ten Crowns is Andy’s third solo album, following Electric Blue (2005) and Non-Stop (2010). This album is a significant milestone in Andy Bell’s forty-year career. It explores new dimensions and possibilities, infused with a sense of gospel and a spirit of dance. On Ten Crowns, Andy Bell shines so brightly, setting the stage for his coronation as an artist.
Andy Bell is best known as one half of Erasure, one of the UK’s most beloved and award-winning songwriting partnerships. He has also established a successful and varied solo career. His solo discography includes three albums released under his own name, as well as two additional albums produced as part of his one-person theater project, Torsten The Bareback Saint.
Throughout his remarkable career, Bell has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including those from the British Electric Foundation, Jake Shears, Claudia Brücken (of Propaganda), Perry Farrell, Boy George, and, most recently, Debbie Harry. This diversity in his collaborations showcases his versatility and creativity.
His rise to fame began when he responded to an advertisement placed by Vince Clarke (of Depeche Mode, Yazoo, and The Assembly) in the Melody Maker. After a successful audition, they formed the duo known as Erasure. Their long-standing songwriting partnership has earned Erasure the title of Best British Group at The Brit Awards, the Attitude Icon Award, and many other accolades. Since the release of their debut album, Wonderland, they have sold over 20 million albums, with five of their 18 studio albums reaching the UK number one spot. They have also had multiple Top 20 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Their most recent release, The Neon, debuted at #4 on the UK Official Albums Chart, and the duo is currently working on a new Erasure album project. In addition, Andy recently received the ICON Award at the Peugeot Attitude PRIDE Awards Europe 2025.
