May is Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. While many KALX DJs are highlighting the music of the many cultures included in this celebration, DJ Dokkaebi’s celebration of AAPI music the other day was especially good. You can hear it again, or for the first time, in the KALX Archive player.
DJs Microtone and Tiger Lily will do an AAPI special on Tuesday, May 23, from 9:30am-noon. DJ Microtone is also producing a special on AAPI contributions to jazz on Round Midnight, starting this Friday night, May 19, at 11:59pm and continuing into early Saturday morning.
