Sierra hails from Tulsa Oklahoma, the home of both her tribes (Otoe-Missouria and Keetoowah Cherokee), and draws from her lived experience and cultural background as part of the Native community.

While she now calls Connecticut home, Spirit’s music dwells with the red dirt of Oklahoma, where she was raised. Sierra recently released her debut EP coin toss – from loss, to love, to transparency about mental health, her songs tell stories of the honest struggles of growing up.

One of Rio de Janeiro’s most exciting singer-songwriters of the last fifteen years is now living in Los Angeles, where he stands on the verge of an overdue American breakthrough. Before the move, Latin Grammy nominee Rogê (pronounced haw-zheh) was the prince of Lapa, the bustling downtown center of Rio’s nightlife. Charismatic and scruffy, with a distinctively raspy yet boyish voice, Rogê (born Roger José Cury) gained an avid following for his swinging samba-funk, tinged with Brazilian Soul. His acclaim rose when he co-wrote the theme song for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

Rogê’s extremely promising debut on the American scene—which included a 2020 tour with world-famous Brazilian singer-actor Seu Jorge and a New York Times profile—was cut short by the pandemic, but Rogê is back with a vengeance.

Latest album, Curyman II, is Rogê’s highly anticipated album out via Diamond West Records featuring collaborations with renowned musicians and a production that honors the roots of Brazilian music while pushing its boundaries.  Expect an album that is both a celebration and an evolution of Rogê’s signature style. Curyman II is not just an album; it’s an invitation to immerse yourself in the soul-stirring world of Rogê once again.

Ripley and the band, (Rose City Band) have just released their latest record entitled Sol Y Sombra (Thrill Jockey Records, 2025).  In this interview, Ripley discusses the origins of this album’s namesake from past travels to Seville, Spain and expands on embracing the balance of shadows / darkness in music along with the concept of leaning into sonic seasonality.

Ripley also speaks to his own history growing up with radio, and his current listening & contributions to his own NTS radio show these days.  Through his contributions across other projects (Wooden Shjips and Moon Duo) and having lived on the East Coast, Santa Cruz, SF, and Portland, for which the Rose City Band is aptly named, the two also discuss the idea of “sense of place” and its embedded geocaching in the music making process.

Over the last four decades, the prolific Saloman—the band’s songwriter and singer and, on many albums, the sole performer of all the instruments—has amassed an underground following in the U.K. and beyond, developing his own blend of raw psychedelia, swirling pop melodies, and punk sensibilities across more than two dozen records. His most recent, 2024’s Focus on Nature, showcases the joyfully direct style of songcraft that has come to be associated with The Bevis Frond.

Saloman and his touring band are about to embark on their first trip to the U.S. in over 25 years. Tune in to hear about the DIY determination that led to the creation of The Bevis Frond, how growing up in London in the 1960s shaped his musical dreams, and the twists and turns he faced along the way to fulfilling them.

Regarded as one of the world’s most renowned and respected drummers, Simon’s style not only reflects his technical gift but also his distinct musical sensibility. Whether it is rock, fusion or jazz, Simon applies the same precision and intensity to his drumming, which is never lacking in emotion and feel.

Throughout the 1970s and 80s, Simon has worked with rock bands and artists including Jeff Beck, Michael Schenker, Nik Kershaw, Mike Oldfield, Judas Priest, Mike Rutherford, Tears for Fears, 10cc and The Who. After Jeff Porcaro’s death in 1992, he became part of the world-famous rock band Toto. After leaving the group in 2014, Simon ventured into the fusion and progressive rock worlds as both a drummer and producer.
