On Wednesday, October 31st @ 8:30AM, The Pencil Sharpener will air an interview with Dinho Almeida, Ynaiã Benthroldo, and Raphael Vaz of Brazilian psychedelic rock band Boogarins.
They discuss how it feels to jam in the most unlikely of spaces at the most unlikely of times, as well as what’s its like to be a Brazilian when the newest president is a vocal advocate of racism, sexism, violence, and torture. With lovely Portuguese lilts, Boogarins share their love for uninhibited musical experimentation and their amazement at how far they’ve come from their start in central Brazil. Tune in for more!
