Bruce Ames and Rhonda Patrick on Spectrum

On Friday, June 13th @ noon, Spectrum hosts Bruce Ames and Rhonda Patrick. Dr. Ames is a Senior Scientist at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute, director of their Nutrition & Metabolism Center, and a Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, at the University of California, Berkeley.
Rhonda Patrick has a Ph.D. in biomedical science. Dr. Patrick is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute with Dr. Ames.

In part one of two interviews they talk about their research clarifying the mechanisms by which poor nutrition accelerates the degenerative diseases of aging with their huge attendant medical costs. Dr. Ames explains his Triage Theory. They will talk about the first of three papers they will collaborate on involving Vitamin D regulating serotonin synthesis.
