Tune in for another exciting episode of The Graduates on Tuesday, February 13th @ 9AM as we speak with Caleb Luna about their work.
Caleb is a Ph.D. Student in the Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies and their dissertation incorporates fat studies and its social impacts, linguistics, bodies and their associated cultural and social meanings, and performance.
In our interview we discuss fatness as an object of interrogation along with the deconstruction of adjacent social ideas. Caleb shares with us how they got their start in theater and performance and they offer a critical perspective on how to question and resist normative culture engrained with capitalistic, gendered, and racially prejudiced ideas.
The Graduates, featuring graduate student research at Cal, is broadcast every other Tuesday on KALX. Past episodes are available to listen and download free on iTunes or online. The Graduates is hosted by Ashley Smiley, Ph.D. Student in the Department of Integrative Biology.
