Catching Up With Tune-Yards

Posted on June 5, 2025

Tune-Yards standing together outside with a colorful background.

Tune in on Monday, June 9th @ 4:30pm to hear Ears of Maize in conversation with Tune-Yards‘ own Merrill Garbus & Nate Brenner. The Oakland-based duo is fresh on the release of their latest record, Better Dreaming (4AD).

Together, they talk about sources of rhythm + inspiration, and the matriculation of place & practice in music. Hear more about the duo’s work with the talented Boots Riley on sonic scoring, (I’m A Virgo, Sorry To Bother You) and speak to their continued evolution in harnessing and caring for ourselves and our voices in the current world.

Tune-Yards is touring Northern California with stops June 13th at The UC Theatre (Berkeley), June 14th at Felton Music Hall (Felton), and June 15th at The Guild Theatre (Menlo Park).
