Construction has begun on the 1400 capacity elegant music venue at 2036 University Avenue in Berkeley! On Friday, April 24 @ noon, Method to the Madness host Lisa Kiefer interviews the man behind the transformation of The UC Theatre–David Mayeri.
Founder of the Berkeley Music Group, a non-profit organization formed to renovate and run The UC Theatre, his goal is to make the theatre a cornerstone to the Berkeley Arts and Entertainment district and an economic boost to the Berkeley area. With over 40 years of experience in the live music business including Bill Graham Presents from 1970 to 2004, Mayeri hopes to present a vibrant and diverse range of live performances to advance the understanding and appreciation of music, culture and education in the East Bay.
