KALX Live! brings listeners an in-studio performance by Eli Utne on Saturday, November 2nd at 9pm, hosted by DJ Frontal Lobe. Born and raised in the cloud-flecked waters of Minnesota, Utne is a singer-songwriter and producer based in Huchiun (Oakland, CA). With influences ranging from The Books to Bon Iver, Gia Margaret to Sufjan Stevens, and Bibio to ML Buch, Eli makes sounds that immerse the listener in a verdant and textured auditory field, each color a sound, each fragrance a lyrical motif or rhythmic flutter, inviting exploration, reflection, and wonder at every turn. By shining a light on the power and necessity of human connection, and the danger of isolation and escapism, Eli hopes for his music to serve as a tool for our collective healing and liberation.
