Formed in 2015 by Andres Ruiz and Ian McDonnell initially playing morose, sonically intense, energetic post-punk, False Figure has given way to more pointed yet melancholic melodies as evident on their latest release, Castigations, put out last fall by local label Transylvanian Recordings.
