Tune in on Tuesday, February 26th @ 9AM to The Graduates for an interview with Fatima Abdurrahman from the Department of Astronomy at UC Berkeley. Fatima is a PhD candidate whose research is focused on finding blackholes. She talks about how difficult it can be to see something that, by definition, gives off no light. She also discusses how she uses powerful telescopes to observe distant objects in the night sky and why the process can be less than fun despite the fact that it takes her to Hawaii.
The Graduates, featuring graduate student research at Cal, is broadcast every other Tuesday on KALX 90.7 FM. Past episodes are available to listen and download free on iTunes or online. This episode of The Graduates is hosted by Andrew Saintsing, a PhD student in the Department of Integrative Biology.
