This Sunday, November 23nd at 1pm, Frontal Lobe will sit down with Derek Sup, founder-director of Oakland’s secular, DIY choir Free Key Choir. Joining Derek will be Chase Camp, local musician and writer who recently profiled the choir for the Bay Area Current.
Since fall of 2022, Free Key Choir has been cultivating an inclusive home for independent musicians, artists, and community members to gather weekly in one large, collaborative project, and through that, forge new connections and creations that expand the horizons of the music landscape in the Bay Area and beyond. The choir is home to both a large number of experienced and accomplished musicians, people who are newer to choral singing entirely, and everyone in between.
