On Tuesday, October 6th @ 9AM, Monson will interview molecular biologist Heather Bruce from the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley! Heather’s research focuses on the genetic bases of appendage diversity in the crustacean Parhyale hawaiensis. Heather will talk about her earlier work on Hox gene expression in the development of the mollusk shell, morphological novelties, GMO’s, the science of making animals, and her experience transitioning from community college.
