Ibibio Sound Machine Interview

Posted on August 17, 2019

ISM

Tune in on Monday, August 19th @ 8:15AM to hear DJ Massari’s chat with the London-born Nigerian singer, Eno Williams, of futuristic highlife band, Ibibio Sound Machine.  The discussion goes into the Ibibio language and its influence on the ISM sound. As well as their mission statement, their fashion sense, and rise in global popularity.

Ibibio Sound Machine is a clash of African and electronic elements inspired in equal measure by the golden era of West African funk, disco, and modern post-punk and electro. Evocative Nigerian poetic imagery set against an edgy Afro-Electro soundscape gives the band a unique space within the wave of modern Afrocentric sounds sweeping the globe.
