IDLES Interview

Posted on October 10, 2018

IDLES

On Sunday, October 14th @ 11:30AM, DJ Helen Earth speaks with Joe Talbot of Bristol based punk rock band, IDLES, about immigration, literature, toxic masculinity, and the band’s newest album Joy As An Act of Resistance.

IDLES make a flinty, shouty, angry brand of punk/post-punk with a “what’ve you got” rebellious attitude and lyrical style.

So says the band: “This new album is an attempt to be vulnerable to our audience and to encourage vulnerability; a mere brave naked smile in this shitty new world. We have stripped back the songs and the lyrics to our bare flesh to allow each other to breathe, and to celebrate our differences and act as an ode to communities and the individuals that forge them. Because without our community, we’d be nothing.”
