On Tuesday, December 13th @ 10:30AM, The Genderwave speaks with Nick Allbrook of Australian psych rock band Pond, ahead of their show at The Fillmore in SF on Friday, December 16th.
Originally formed in the turn of the 2010’s, as “a Royal Trux-cum-Cream power trio,” fronted by Allbrook with Jay Watson and Joe Ryan, Pond added Jamie Terry shortly afterwards, with James Ireland later rounding out the irrepressible five-piece. Ever prolific, Pond boasts an impressive nine studio albums in their ever expanding repertoire.
The band recently released a new EP Live At The BBC that will give fans a taste of what is to come this fall on tour. Listen here. The session was originally recorded for the Marc Riley show on BBC6 Music. The EP kicks off with “Take Me Avalon I’m Young” from their most recent album, 9 and also features the tracks “America’s Cup,” “Human Touch” and “Toast.”
