Tune in on Monday, March 20th @ 6:30pm to catch DJ Dokkaebi’s interview with singer-songwriter Vashti Bunyan, to discuss her new memoir, Wayward: Just Another Life to Live, as well as her life, her music, and her impact.
Wayward is a beautifully heartfelt work that covers Bunyan’s extraordinary life, beginning with her childhood, her difficulties in the music industry, and her decision to abandon everything familiar and turn to the road, living in a horse drawn wagon with her then partner, dog, and guitar. Though her adventures throughout England and Scotland during the 1970’s seem to speak of an entirely different world, her stories remain grounded in the real-life struggles and tumultuous feelings she had, feelings she coped with through her music.
Bunyan’s music gained a resurgence nearly thirty years after the release of her debut album, enabling her to once again find her voice in songwriting, and with the publication of this memoir, she seems to have found the voice to tell her story.
