On Tuesday, December 15th @ 4PM, DJ Sparkle Motion will interview Seattle-based multi-instrumentalist James Whetzel about the process of scoring a silent film! Whetzel is a classically trained sarod and table player, singer, producer, and beloved and innovative DJ for the Seattle Center’s International Fountain. His most recent project is a 51-track, all-original soundtrack to the innovative 1929 silent Russian documentary film, Dziga Vertov’s Man With A Movie Camera. The film celebrates the beautiful, rhythmic and wild celebration of life over 24 hours in a single day of four Russian cities: Kiev, Kharkov, Odessa, and Moscow.
