Jay Harman on Method to the Madness

On Method to the Madness, Friday, October 9th @ noon, host Lisa Kiefer interviews biomimicry pioneer and inventor Jay Harman. Harman is the President and CEO of PAX Scientific, a Marin county engineering, research, and design firm founded by his wife and partner, Francesca Bertone. One of the first pioneering scientists to make biomimicry – the science of employing nature in advancing sustainable technology – a cornerstone of modern and future engineering, Harman’s goal is to show industry that improving the efficiency of industrial equipment using nature as the source of inspiration is beneficial for both the bottom line and the planet. His recent book, The Shark’s Paintbrush, elegantly describes the potential of biomemetics in the next industrial revolution, giving hundreds of examples, as well as advice on how to create an ethical biomemetic business environmeny in our challenging times.
