Detroit techno pioneer Jeff Mills will join DJ Massari on Friday, March 6th at 11am for a conversation preceding two distinct San Francisco performances.
The first is the 30th anniversary celebration of his influential Liquid Room mix CD, featuring a live session of uninterrupted techno at 1015 Folsom on March 6th.
The second, Cinemix: Metropolis Metropolis, will take place on Saturday, March 7th at The Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, where Mills will perform an original score live to Fritz Lang’s 1927 silent film Metropolis. As one of only two Cinemix presentations in the United States, this event introduces underground electronic music to a prominent San Francisco cultural venue, representing a rare crossover within the city’s arts calendar.
Jeff Mills, a Detroit-born DJ, producer, and composer, has profoundly influenced electronic music and experimental performance. Renowned for his precision, minimalism, and futurist vision, Mills continues to broaden the cultural and conceptual scope of techno.
