On Tuesday, December 9th @ 11:59PM, DJ Sparkle Motion will explore the sonic landscapes of John Luther Adams, an American composer whose music is inspired by nature, especially the landscapes of Alaska on Midnight Express. He attended Cal Arts as an undergraduate in the early 1970s, where he studied with James Tenney and Leonard Stein. After graduating from Cal Carts, Adams began work in environmental protection that brought him to Alaska. His deep love for the location led to his permanent migration there in 1978 and it continues to be a prominent influence in his music, exploring sound in an outdoor environment.
