John Vanderslice Interview

Posted on April 22, 2019

JohnVanderslice

On Wednesday, April 24th @ 8:15AM, DJ Velvet Einstein speaks with long standing Bay Area musician, John Vanderslice.  Tune in and learn more about Vanderslice’s recording studio, Tiny Telephone, the impact of tech companies on Bay Area musicians, returning to music after an extended hiatus, and taking his learnings from Chez Panisse into the recording studio.

Over the course of his extensive career as an influential songwriter, record producer, and studio owner, John Vanderslice has carved out a singular place for himself in the landscape of American indie rock.

In April 2018, Vanderslice decided to leap back into his solo career with full force, hunkering down for over 50 days with Telephone engineer/producers James Riotto and Rob Shelton in a process that yielded The Cedars — Vanderslice’s most ambitious record to date.

John Vanderslice plays The Rickshaw Stop on Sunday, April 28th with Meernaa.  Show starts @ 8pm.
