On the Friday, April 11th @ noon, Method to the Madness host Lisa Kiefer interviews Lisa Curtis, the Founder & CEO of KuliKuli. Through first-hand experience with malnutrition as a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, West Africa, Curtis experienced the nutritious health benefits of the leaves of the Moringa Oleifera tree, known as Kuli-Kuli, a popular snack in Nigeria with high levels of protein, calcium, iron, Vitamin C and Vitamin A. Back in the U.S. and seeing a solution to malnutrition and poverty through the leaves of the Moringa oleifera tree, Curtis formed KuliKuli, a mission-driven business that sells moringa based nutritional bars. By carefully managing the supply chain, this fast growing new superfood allows KuliKuli to source only a portion of each harvest for western consumption while paying fair wages to women in West Africa.
