Lydia Lunch Interview

Posted on November 26, 2021

Lydia

On Saturday, November 27th @ 12PM (noon), DJ Surface Tension airs his recent interview with singer // poet // writer // actress // icon, Lydia Lunch.

Lydia Lunch has spent decades trolling through the sub/terranean sick-home black & blues creating a schizophrenic musical legacy which loops from shrill No Wave to bludgeoning Hard Rock, from smoky Jazz Noir and illustrated word to macabre Psychedelia.

Years ahead of her time, Lunch spoke out about breaking the cycle of violence against women and children who have been compelled to hide the truth for fear of being re-victimized for speaking out. With the current explosion of women stepping out of their silence regarding sexual harassment in the workplace, Lydia continues to expose the patriarchy, sexual abuse, the cycle of violence, and corporate greed with stubborn resistance.

In 2019, Lydia Lunch and NYC filmmaker Beth B joined forces to create LYDIA LUNCH The War Is Never Over, the first career-spanning documentary retrospective of Lunch’s confrontational, acerbic and always electric artistry.

Lydia Lunch Retrovirus plays Great American Music Hall this Saturday, November 27th in San Francisco.  Show starts at 8pm and is All Ages.
