Tune in Wednesday, September 18th at 10:30 am when Sparkle Motion sits down with composer and Other Minds programmer Joseph Bohigian to preview and discuss this year’s Other Minds Festival 28 taking place at the San Francisco Brava Theater on September 25th – 28th.
The festival opens with visionary German born Seattle-based kinetic sculptor, sound artist, and musician Trimpin and two world premiere performances of The Cello Quartet featuring three autonomous cellos, human cellist Lori Goldston, and a trio of circus artists, choreographed by Margaret Fisher.
Other guests include piano/percussion quartet Yarn/Wire, trumpeter Nate Wooley, and pianist Sarah Cahill performing the music of New Zealand-born American composer Annea Lockwood and Norwegian composer Jan Martin Smørdal.
Closing out the festival, percussionist Marshall Trammell performs with saxophonist Hafez Modirzadeh and percussionist Nava Dunkelman performs with Mills College alumna Amma Ateria as the electro-percussion duo IMA.
