Tune in on Wednesday March 25th at 6:30pm, when Last Will and Petra Core host curator, producer, visual // sound artist, and co-founder of Ratskin Records, Michael Daddona, to discuss the upcoming Outsider Sounds And Visions Fest – celebrating 20 years of Ratskin Records. The fest takes place on March 27th and 28th at First Church of the Buzzard in Oakland.
This year’s festival will feature 30 plus performers across experimental, outsider, and underground music, alongside visual art and documentation. Confirmed artists include SPELLLING, La Sucias, Yama Uba, Maya Songbird, Sharkiface, Zachary James Watkins, Wizard Apprentice, Total Shutdown, Burmese, Topazu, and the Surface Tension DJs, with more artists from the extended Ratskin community joining the lineup.
Ratskin Records marks its 20-year anniversary with a two-day festival celebrating a collective built on persistence resistance, and an uncompromising DIY ethic. What started as a tiny bedroom label project from founders Andre Stafford, Jsun McCarty, MD, and Tyrone Davies in 2006 eventually turned into a diverse platform for experimental, underground, and outsider music and art—prioritizing artistic risk, emotional honesty, and long-term creative relationships over trends or commercial systems with artists Wizard Apprentice and Beast Nest helping usher in a more concrete vision and mission.
This 20 year anniversary festival brings together past and present collaborators for over thirty performances across two days, alongside art and food vendors, creating a living cross-section of the label’s history and community. All proceeds directly support the artists performing and the continued work of the label, making the festival not just a retrospective, but a reaffirmation of collective creativity, autonomy, and why radical, independent music and art made on its own terms still matters, maybe now more than ever.
