Tune in on Thursday, May 28th at 2pm when Velvet Einstein hosts SF based musician, writer, and producer, PC Muñoz, for a live in-studio interview ahead of his SF show at Medicine For Nightmares on June 5th.
PC Muñoz’ body of work as an artist and producer includes GRAMMY® nominated contemporary classical music with composer/cellist Joan Jeanrenaud of Kronos Quartet as well as recordings with rock legend Jackson Browne, Chicana poet Ingrid Chavez, Dr. Fink of Prince and The Revolution, and many more.
After a decade focused on production and percussion, acclaimed Bay Area maverick PC Muñoz returns to the spoken voice with Little Ransoms, a collection of twelve voice-forward pieces accompanied by flute, saxophone, sung passages, and sparse musical textures. It is Muñoz’s first spoken word-focused album since 2005’s award-winning Twenty Haiku, which featured Bay Area jazz greats Tammy Hall and Scott Amendola, electronic music sorceress bLevin bLectum, and many more.
Little Ransoms continues Muñoz’s long standing exploration of language, rhythm, and musical storytelling. Many of the pieces are new musical renderings of pieces originally commissioned for various publications and performances.
