Frontal Lobe recently spoke with Baltimore-raised vocalist and experimental musician serpentwithfeet ahead of his June 6th show at San Francisco’s The Independent. Tune in Saturday, June 15th at 4:30pm to hear their conversation.
In February 2024, serpentwithfeet released his third studio album, Grip, which follows the 2021 release Deacon and his 2018 debut Soil. His discography also includes three EPs, as well as a dizzying array of singles and well-received features in collaboration with other musical and artistic luminaries such as Ty Dolla $ign, Bjork, Moby, and Virgil Abloh.
Grip finds serpent relishing in the grooves, sensuality, and archetypes of the club environment. In tandem with the album release, serpent and writing collaborator Donte Collins created a theatrical show, Heart of Brick, which premiered in Hamburg, Germany before moving to New York city.
Tune in to the conversation to hear about the artist’s move into the theatrical realm, the thematic emotional connections between his album releases, and what the future may hold for future productions.
