By 2011 he was said to have devised the scientific method for launching high tech startups dubbed the Lean LaunchPad. The NSF caught wind of this and asked Steve to build a variation for teaching scientists and engineers how to launch a startup. In 2013 Steve partnered with UCSF and the National Science Foundation to offer the Lean LaunchPad class for Life Science and Healthcare (therapeutics, diagnostics, devices and digital health.) In part two Steve talks about getting the NSF Lean LaunchPad classes going, the evolution of startup companies, business disruption and innovation.
Steve Blank on Spectrum
On Friday, March 21st @ noon, Spectrum presents part two of our interview with Steve Blank, a lecturer at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. Steve has been a serial entrepreneur in Silicon Valley since the late 1970s. In 1999 he retired from day to day involvement in running a company. Since 2002 he has been teaching and developing curriculum for entrepreneurship training.
