Posted on November 16, 2016

SK

Tune in to The Graduates on Tuesday, November 22nd @ 9AM for another amazing episode highlighting graduate student research at UC Berkeley! This time, we ask, how do you know what a spider eats? Susan Kennedy, PhD Candidate in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, joins The Graduates for an interview discussing her work on spider feeding behavior and diet, focusing on long-jawed orb weavers in Hawaii.

In the interview, Susan also debunks several spider myths, describes her metagenomic methods of analyzing spider diet, and outlines other research coming out of the Gillespie Lab at Berkeley.

The Graduates, highlighting graduate student research at Berkeley and around the world, is broadcast every other Tuesday at 9AM. Past episodes are available to listen and download free on iTunes or online. The Graduates is hosted by Tesla Monson, PhD Candidate in the Department of Integrative Biology.
