Swarm Intelligence on KALX Live!

Posted on February 20, 2012

Swarm%20Intelligence_0

This Saturday, February 25 @ 9:00pm KALX LIVE! and your host Summertime are proud to present the debut performance of Swarm Intelligence featuring the members of Grex, along with Jordan Glenn, Phillip Greenlief, Dan Seamans, Cory Wright.

The sextet of Swarm Intelligence synthesizes the sounds of Grex with “the instrumentation and rhythmic concept of modern jazz (reeds/bass/drums), evoking the timbres and improvisational acumen of the likes of the Paul Motian Trio, Liberation Music Orchestra, Marion Brown, and Bennie Maupin while tethering itself to the multi-idiomatic sensibilities of contemporary chamber pop.” This will be a live remote broadcast from Oakland’s Swarm Gallery and also be the CD release for the Ross Hammond Quartet’s new CD, Adored. Be there or listen here on your KALX, Berkeley 90.7 FM.
