The Briefs Interview

Posted on October 29, 2024

Group band photo in black and white.

Surface Tension recently spoke with singer-guitarist Steve E. Nix of globetrotting punk band The Briefs. Tune in on Thursday, November 7th at 7:00pm to hear their conversation about music and other topics interspersed with hook-laden tunes, including a taste of the band’s most recent output.

The band are celebrating their 25th anniversary with a new 7″ single — “High Society” b/w “You Move Me” — and a re-release of their underdog anthem — “Poor & Weird” b/w “Rotten Love” — both on TKO Records, plus a deluxe reissue of Singles Only on variously hued vinyl courtesy of Strange Club Records.

The Briefs will play Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco with fellow Seattle-ites Fan Club (formerly Lysol) and Chico-based rockers The Wind-Ups on Friday, November 7. Doors: 8:30pm. Show: 9pm. The show is wheelchair accessible and 21+.
