The Rag Tags play on KALX Live!

Posted on November 8, 2023

Three young male musicians in t-shirts, wearing guitars (one bass, two six strings), playing music outside in what appears to be a back yard, with a corner of a house and a wooden fence visible.

This five-piece group of Berkeley students have made their way through almost every co-op, frat, and house party the Berkeley area has to offer: enter the captivating realm of The Rag Tags. As the moniker suggests, their group is a delightful hodgepodge of drastically contrasting musical pedigrees. From their eclectic backgrounds, their sound captures the improvisational spirit of jazz, experimental edge of art rock, lax timbre of surf rock, and raw intensity of punk. They have recently sat down and culminated an exciting collection of originals that encapsulate their ‘rag-tag’ approach to musical magic.
