Join Gloop on Wednesday, November 29th @ 8:30pm to hear a recent conversation with Douglas Dulgarian of Philadelphia based band, They Are Gutting A Body Of Water (TAGABOW), ahead of their upcoming show at Rickshaw Stop in SF on December 6th.
At the front of the pack of Philly shoegazers is they are gutting a body of water, more commonly referred to as TAGABOW. The cult favorites come from the new school of disillusionment in music. Their new record ,Lucky Styles, channels tension, angst, and an overwhelming sensitivity to life through many a distortion pedal.
Originating as the solo project of Douglas Dulgarian in 2018, the band has come to include Ben Opuat on drums, Emily Lofing on bass, and PJ Carroll on lead guitar. Having recently been featured on Stereogum and Audiotree Live, their unique sound is reaching more listeners than ever. But, when asked how to describe their sound, one might struggle, as each song is a mixup between shoegaze and drums and bass.
