We’re ready to reminisce about Burger Boogaloo 2019. Tune in Sunday, July 14th @ 11:00AM as DJ Helen Earth airs a compilation of interviews from Japanese bands Gorilla, The Highmarts, and The Thunderroads, who all played the Tokyo Takeover Burger Boogaloo Pre-Party on July 5th at Classic Cars West in Oakland.

Gorilla is a garagey, upbeat, power pop group from Tokyo inspired by the sunny sounds of California, as demonstrated on their most recent EP Oh California. Their first full length, It’s All Pop was released in December 2018.
The Highmarts are an all female power trio from Tokyo inspired by the fuzzy 60s “Group Sound” iconic of Japanese rock as well as 70s punk. Their newest single, “I Want You Bad” features bass riffs and wah-wahed guitar solos that put the boys to shame.
The Thunderroads are a hard rock group inspired by the likes of the New York Dolls and the Stooges who love nothing more than to yell, “Rock ‘n’ Roll!”. In spite of being well-seasoned, veteran rockers, their first full-length, Thunder City Burning has only just come out and is available on vinyl only.
