Tune in for another exciting episode of The Graduates on Tuesday, July 3rd @ 9AM as we speak with Ursula Kwong-Brown about soprano and orchestra music composition with an emphasis in new media.

Ursula is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Music. In the interview, Ursula talks about how she became a pianist, a composer, and how she incorporates magnets and electronics in performances to create unique sounds for her new media studies. Ursula also speaks about what it is like to be a woman in the music world and how early child music literacy and greater access can improve representation in the adult academic music community.

The Graduates, featuring graduate student research at Cal, is broadcast every other Tuesday on KALX. Past episodes are available to listen and download free on iTunes or online. This episode of The Graduates is hosted by Ashley Smiley, PhD Candidate in the Department of Integrative Biology.
