On Friday, June 19th @ noon, Method to the Madness host Lisa Kiefer interviews Vicki Abadesco, the director and co-founder of Soul Shoppe, an organization that teaches empathy, anger management, and peacemaking to school children and their adults with programs across the US, Canada, and Holland. As an author, Packard Foundation-Ashoka Changemakers “Building Empathy” Award winner, and fellow for the Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at MIT, Abadesco feels that her early work with teen violence prevention gave her the desire to reach kids at an earlier time in their lives – elementary school – to help them develop the resilience and self-esteem they need to thrive. With over twenty-five years of experience working with youth, schools, and communities, Abadesco is on a mission to make schools safe, peaceful, and bully-free.
