Wasia Project Interview

Posted on December 9, 2024

On Friday, December 13th at 7pm, Diane Young speaks with Olivia Hardy and William Gao of the London based pop band, Wasia Project.

The sibling duo’s mixed British-Asian heritage and musical upbringing have inspired their global approach to pop, melding styles and influences that cut across genre lines. In their songs, bedroom DIY combines with classical intellect, soft disco melds with freewheeling jazz, in a merging that’s underpinned by the duo’s deep knowledge of distinct musical styles.

They released their debut single, “why don’t u love me,” in 2019, followed by the EP How Can I Pretend? three years later. With singles like “Petals on the Moon” and “My Lover Is Sleeping,” Wasia Project has gained massive popularity for their unique sound.

They have recently released their second EP, Isotope.
