About the artist: Nate Salman has been making music since their childhood, using anything they can get their hands on to express the magic they find beneath the surface of daily life. Channeling stories from somewhere beyond, they have worked obsessively to refine their unique sound, seeking always for deeper meaning and authenticity. With influences ranging from Björk, Kate Bush, FKA Twigs, Arca and Radiohead to old British folk songs, their music is a tapestry of experimentation.
About 25th Street Sessions: In a single day of marathon recording at 25th Street Recording in Oakland, CA, Waterstrider was able to craft their new full-length release, 25th Street Sessions (out on October 30th). These tracks are a balance of hard-hitting, jammed-out reinterpretations of indie rock songs from the Waterstrider catalog, alongside some emotionally-laden ballads. Primarily the moniker of singer/songwriter Nate Salman, this time around Waterstrider became a collective of Salman and powerhouse Bay Area musicians Patrick Aguirre (Emily Afton, Yassou Benedict), Antrom Alexander (Desert Friends, Eyes on the Shore), Kevin McCann (Madame Ghandi, Eyes on the Shore) and Cory Tauwoo (Tauwoo, Eyes on the Shore), alongside guest features from Jeff Kolhede, Anton Patzner, and Elena Shelton. 25th Street Sessions is also being released as a series of videos that intimately document the day-long recording process, showcasing the musical chemistry and joy shared between these incredible musicians.
