Join Ears of Maize on Monday, October 28th at 4:30pm to hear a recent conversation with songwriter, Willie Watson, ahead of his performance at Freight & Salvage in Berkeley on November 3rd.
With the momentum of a new self-titled album, Willie speaks to his latest work – a collection of all original songs put to record for the first time in his career. He discusses his creative process and songwriting collaboration with Morgan Nagler, his love of performing songs to live audiences, and some of his other creative outlets such as a hand-crafted denim business to compliment his artistic expressions in his current chapter of life, love, and reflection.
“Real Love” & “Reap ’em In the Valley” are two songs discussed off the latest record that speak deepest to Willie’s own self evolution and reflection, with signature markers of people & place that have been definitive not only in his life story, but also leave incredible connection for listeners and fans to this new album.
In addition to his show in Berkeley on November 3rd, Watson will be bringing his latest collection of songs to Felton Music Hall on November 1st and The Mystic Theatre in Petaluma on November 2nd.
